Howdy all, sorry for the hiatus. Things have been busy and I haven't had anything too exciting to post lately.
This basketball season I took the opportunity to shoot some angles that I haven't shot before. The one type of shot that I really enjoyed the results from is a player getting ready to take a free throw. I like getting a shot of him in focus on the line and the other players lined up out of focus. To me the photo epitomizes what is going on in the players head as he prepares for the free throw. All other things must be out of focus, only he and the ball and the hoop are his concern. The other players, fans, refs and that crazy photographer are there but only apparitions of his mind. Anyway, I have always admired atheletes who can block out all that is going on around them and control themselves not only physically but mentally to do what they need to do. I told my son this week that free throw shooting is mostly mental, once you figure out the physical part, practice will create muscle memory and from there you have to overcome your own mental process.
In this photo we have Chris Smith of the newly crowned 8th Grade Conference Champions deep in focus. See some photos from their season here . Nice job guys, congrats!
Thats it for now,
Later
